The PICISOC Board and Pacific IGF Organising Committee invite proposals for presentations, panel discussions, roundtables and lightning talks at PacIGF 2026.

Help shape the Pacific’s digital future

PacIGF 2026 brings together governments, the private sector, civil society, the technical community, academia, Indigenous knowledge holders, youth and development partners to discuss a trusted, inclusive, secure and resilient digital future for the Pacific.

We welcome practical experience, research findings, policy analysis, community perspectives and innovative approaches. Proposals should demonstrate clear relevance to the Pacific and offer insights that others can learn from.

Topics and themes

Proposals may address the following areas. The full call contains a more detailed list of suggested topics.

1. Inclusive Dialogue

Meaningful connectivity, affordability, digital skills, youth participation, gender equality, accessibility, online safety and community engagement.

2. Pacific Solutions

Community networks, Pacific-led digital transformation, regional partnerships, Indigenous knowledge, cultural preservation, entrepreneurship and capacity building.

3. Resilient Future

Cybersecurity, incident response, critical information infrastructure, digital trust, data sovereignty, privacy and disaster-resilient communications.

4. Age of Intelligence

AI governance, responsible and ethical AI, public-service applications, climate adaptation, AI readiness, data ecosystems and Pacific language technologies.

5. Our Ocean, Our Home

Ocean protection, environmental monitoring, climate resilience, Blue Pacific digital initiatives, Pacific cultures and languages, sustainable technology and community-led climate action.

Choose your session format

Presentation · 15–20 minutes Panel discussion · 45–60 minutes Roundtable / community dialogue · 45–60 minutes Lightning talk · 5–10 minutes

Co-authored and multi-speaker proposals are welcome. Individuals and organisations may submit more than one proposal, provided each submission is distinct.

How to submit

Email your proposal to [email protected] by 30 October 2026.

Use this email subject line:

PacIGF2026 Submission – [Your Name / Organisation]

Include the following information:

  1. Proposed presentation or session title.
  2. Name of each proposed speaker.
  3. Organisation and country for each speaker.
  4. Contact details, including email address and phone number.
  5. A short biography for each speaker, approximately 100–150 words.
  6. An abstract or session description of 250–2,500 words, covering:
    • The purpose and focus of the contribution.
    • Key messages, findings or experiences to be shared.
    • How the contribution relates to the conference theme.
    • The intended audience and expected outcomes.
  7. Preferred session format.
  8. Relevant theme or topic area.
  9. Any accessibility or technical requirements.
  10. Disclosure of relevant commercial interests.

What we particularly welcome

  • Pacific-led initiatives, research and community experience.
  • Practical recommendations and transferable lessons.
  • Perspectives underrepresented in regional digital policy discussions.
  • Constructive dialogue between different stakeholder groups.
  • Insights into the opportunities and risks of AI and other emerging technologies.

The programme is expected to be published before the forum, subject to confirmation of speakers and session details.
