Code of Conduct

PICISOC BOARD OF TRUSTEES CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

PICISOC Board members will:

  • Support the objectives and mission of the Internet Society, as well as abide by their policies and procedures
  • Use their individual skills, experience and knowledge to actively participate to advance the work of the Internet Society within the Pacific Islands Chapter
  • Act in the best interests of the Chapter by contributing in a positive and constructive way, for the benefit of present and future members
  • Attend and be fully prepared for all meetings and other activities of the Chapter.
  • Offer apologies if meeting attendance is not possible, however, regular absence may result in the Board taking action to seek a replacement Board member, so that we can maintain active Board engagement in our work as a Chapter.
  • Work considerately and respectfully with others, respecting diversity of roles, gender, backgrounds, etc.
  • Not make any public comments or statements about the Chapter unless authorised to do so and is in line with our policies.

Any substantial breach of this code may result in procedures being put in motion that may ask for resignation from the Board.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PICISOC MEMBERS 

Our members voluntarily contribute their time and expertise to support the mandate of PICISOC. We value your contributions and encourage you to continue supporting PICISOC. In accordance with the bylaws of PICISOC, we would like to use the following code of conduct to inform our members about their professional and ethical behaviour when liaising with other members of PICISOC.

It is the obligation and responsibility of members to follow the code of conduct:

  • To act with integrity and respectfulness when interacting with members of PICISOC
  • To respect individual, cultural, religion and those involving age, disability, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), language, race and sexual orientation
  • Respect experience, skills, knowledge and expertise of others
  • To respect everyone’s privacy and confidentiality
  • Contribute positively and interact in a respectful manner
  • Refrain from engaging in any form of harassment of others
  • To be reasonable and professional
  • To ensure that you are not sending malicious, abusive or threatening messages and or statements to any of the members
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity and fairness in your interactions
